My dislikes:
Squicks: (Things that makes me hit the back-button immediately.)
- Smoking - art or fic, doesn't matter. I hit the back button faster than you can say 'lung cancer'. Drugs are just as bad. I am not too fond of drunkenness either, but people can drink wine, beer, Firewhisky, as long as it is moderately, no problem there.
- Iwaki/Katou with anybody else.
- Lucius/Harry: it just doesn't work. Can't read it, can't look at it.
- Psycho!Lucius: Keep him away from me, thank you. Canon Lucius is not a psychopath, he is a loving father with absolutely unacceptable ideas on how to preserve the wizarding world. He is defending what he finds right. It doesn't make him a psychopath, just dangerous and a criminal. Also Lucius is rich, he's an aristocrat, not just a somehow wealthy middle class society climber or a rich businessman. Think English/German nobility. Jason Isaac's characterisation of Lucius stinks. (But, damn, the man looks good.)
- Pony play: No. No. No. 'nough said.
- Wax play. Ew!
- Use of non-canon names (Lucius
Abraxas Malfoy or Narcissa
Natasha Black Malfoy, for example. They are Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy in canon!)
- Snarry: MWHAHAHAHA! Right. (Okay, I can read it, if it's a really, really good writer and convincing, plotty story. But I usually don't. Same goes for Snape/Hermione.)
- Domme! Hermione: see 'Snarry'
-Songfic
- 'Spunk', 'cum' and similar strange expressions. Come or semen are quite adequate. Women parts are 'cunts', not other odd descriptions, please.
Dislikes: (Will probably keep my from reading/looking.)
- Lucius manipulating Severus with malicious intent. (He can manipulate all he likes if it is about getting Severus where he wants him - in bed.;0)
- Weak!Remus. He's a quiet man, but not a sissy. On the contrary.
- Non- or dub-con labelled as BDSM. Don't do it. If you don't know the difference you probably shouldn't be writing about it.
- Talk about top/bottom as if it is about D/s. It is not. Also I detest talk about top/bottoming in a fic. Don't.
- Hairy chests. Keep body hair at a minimum, unless it is on people's heads. (In which case long hair is a kink!)
- Children. Mpreg, pregnancy, adopted. I don't care. I'm with Severus here. I'd prefer children as far away from me and my fics as possible.
- Exaggerated fics that gives you the feeling that half the characters are killers who want to have deviant knife-sex and slaves all over the place.(However, this doesn't mean I don't like blood play. I do. I just don't like it as a part of something that is not D/s & love.)
- Student pairings: they do nothing for me, I prefer fics and drawings about/of adults - only exception is Lucius/Severus at Hogwarts.
- Alan Rickman: Great actor. Not Snape. Keep him out of my fics and pics, please.
- Characterisation taken from the crappy fanvids that is Warner Brothers' pathetic contribution to HP fandom.
Pairings I am highly unlikely to read, write or draw:
- Lucius with anyone other than Severus (or Narcissa, if het). (And no, I don't like Lucius/Severus/Narcissa or Lucius/Percy without Severus being there.)
- Bella/anyone
- Hermione/anyone
- Harry/anyone (Snarry especially)
- Voldy/anyone
- Original characters (unless they are crucial to make a plot work and there is no other possibility).
- Sirius/anyone (even though I have actually written a 10,000 word fic, how ironic is that...)
- James/anyone.
What makes me happy:
Pairings:
- My OTP: Lucius/Severus - sane, consensual and equal! Iwaki/Katou. Same deal.
- My OT3: Lucius/Severus/Percy with emphasis on L/S's relationship.
- My favourite het pairing: Lucius/Narcissa
- My favourite characters: Severus, Lucius, Percy, Neville♥, Remus, Minerva, Arthur. Canon!Krum.
- Other pairings that would have been my OTPs if I didn't have Severus/Lucius:
HP: Snape/Percy, Snape/Lupin(Snupin is so my comfort food!)
Harudaki and other Youka Nitta pairs: Carlo/Magira ♥♥♥, Onozuka/Urushizaki, Yukihito/Nagisa
- Parings I really like and most likely will read: Snape/Krum, Neville/any Slytherin male, Neville/Lupin, Lupin/Draco, Minerva/Fleur, Arthur/anyone including Molly, Scrimgeour/Tonks, Karkaroff/Percy. Various Kingsley or Moody slash pairings.
Plot:
- Angsty Severus/Lucius and a happy ending. Not fluff. I want drama, angst and plot to go with the boys!
- Love, love, love! But not schmoopy fluffy bunny love. Angsty, difficult, omnivorous love. The love that drives people to epic sacrifices, and to burn for one another, to rather die than not to be with the one they love.
- Established relationship, or characters on the way to finding it. A well-written love story can actually make me read almost anything.
- Happy and/or hopeful ending for the characters, preferably after some (heavy) angst. A hopeful ending can be death, people meeting in the afterlife, not necessarily the house with the white picket fence.
- Equality. This is why I don't like student/teacher or slave-fic.
- Plausibility. Keep it close to canon, and with characters who look like real people.
- D/s, when it is well done.
- Long, plotty multi-chaptered fics. Angsty adventures, lots of magic, post war...
- Bonding fics. Marriage law-type, but slash, please! Werewolf claiming. Forced marriage/relationship that evolves from necessity to love.
- Lucius/Severus at Hogwarts - Lucius' last year... OMG!
- Canon!Minerva! You want to make me squee, write me Minerva/Snape or Minerva/Hermione!
- Canon characterisation makes me love the fic/art/author/artist. Lucius is not a psychopath, and Severus is greasy, ugly and snarky. Percy
likes is anal, and Minerva has black hair and is far too young to look like Film!Minerva.
Kinks:
- Love! D/s, humiliation if part of a D/s game, and in a loving relationship. Rough sex, semi-public sex. Lucius seducing a young Severus - or the other way around. Moony!sex. Moony as the penetrating part with all that comes with it. GS/watersports, fisting, sounding, long-haired men (No! body hair). Did I mention love? None of the kinks have any meaning if they are not set in a frame where love will be a fact sooner or later.
Experiments:
I love authors who dare write to their limit, who experiment, who wring and twist the language and the words. I am willing to read almost any pairing, if the writer is spectacular. Give me haikus, sonnets, modernist poetry, experimental writing, and I am there. I love if an author (or an artist) dares step outside the box and do something else than what is expected from a fic (or painting).
